I’m a mum and photographer based in Perth, Western Australia. A session with me feels like catching up with a friend, who just so happens to carry a camera!

I’m originally from Portland, Oregon (bonus points if you know where this is!) and first came to Western Australia after I had finished uni. I wanted to explore, see the world, and travel before I settled down and started working. Little did I know two weeks into my time here I would meet my future husband in a bar! Flash forward 10 years, and we are married with two beautiful children and living our dream life in Perth.

Growing up in Oregon I could often be found with a camera in my hand, snapping photos of family and friends. After my daughter was born, I found myself feeling a bit lost. I wasn’t ready to return to work as a primary school teacher, and began to revisit my love of photography as a way to document our days together. No time like having a newborn to dive into a new hobby, right?!

It was during this time I realised how important it was to capture each stage of both childhood and motherhood + fatherhood as well, because we are growing right alongside our children. Photos are a beautiful way to hit pause and capture this time with our babes, because it goes way too quickly.

It was this love and passion that led me to start Kaity Leckie Photography. One of my favourite things about my job is getting to know families I photograph, and capturing the genuine love, connection and fun you have together!

In my spare time you’ll find me wrangling my two kiddos, hanging out at the beach, tackling a home project, or catching up with family and friends. I love a good coffee or wine and am happiest when I am active, staying creative with a camera in my hand, and spending time with those that I love.
